Missions

PactolusAt Pactolus we believe that missions are the Church shows the love of God to the world.  In Romans Paul writes “that we are one body with many parts,” we believe that everyone has a God given gift that can be used for the building of God’s Kingdom no matter how big or small that gift may be.   The Bible teaches us to be good stewards of our time as well as our resources.  As you look over the lists of available opportunities perhaps you would like to donate your time, money, or prayers.  Either way you are greatly appreciated and know that you are helping to build God’s Kingdom.

Feed-a-Friend

Feed-a-Friend is a weekly ministry of the Pactolus U.M.C. women in which they feed those in the community who are sick or elderly and not able to do as much as they used to.  On Monday, volunteers fix food and then deliver it.  This offers an opportunity for fellowship as well as ensuring a hot meal at least once a week.

If you would like to participate in this ministry or feel that you have questions about it, please contact the church @ 423-239-7033, pactolusumc@gmail.com, or leave a message below to request more details.

Clothes Giveaway

Pactolus U.M.C. hosts a bi-yearly clothes giveaway.  One in the Spring and one in the Fall.  It is open to all and just as the name implies there is no charge for anything.  After “shopping around” everyone is invited for a light lunch.

We are always in the need for clothes so we invite you to clean out your closet and participate in this worthy cause.  If you don’t have anything to donate that is fine to we can always use an extra set of hands to serve food or help organize clothes. If you would like to participate in this ministry or feel that you have questions about it, please contact the church @ 423-239-7033, pactolusumc@gmail.com, or leave a message below to request more details.

 Food Pantry

The food pantry is one of our most sought after ministries, and one we are glad to offer.  We try to offer such things as baby supplies, toiletries, and feminine products as well as food, as these are necessities which can run into great expense.

If you would be able to donate to this worthy cause we thank you in advance.  If you would like to participate in this ministry or feel that you have questions about it, please contact the church @ 423-239-7033, pactolusumc@gmail.com, or leave a message below to request more details.

Book Ministry

Pactolus’ book ministry gathers paperback books and delivers them to the local jails.  This is a way that those inside can prepare themselves for re-entry into society or if they are looking at long sentences, can be provided with a little comfort in a not so comfortable place.  The books do have to be paperback for the prisoner and guard safety.

If you would like to participate in this ministry or feel that you have questions about it, please contact the church @ 423-239-7033, pactolusumc@gmail.com, or leave a message below to request more details.

Prayer Chain

Our prayer chain is a group of people who are committed to praying for any situation that is presented to them. Most request are passed along by phone to ensure they are given quickest attention.  Any one may request prayer and you may remain anonymous.

If you would like to participate in this ministry or feel that you have questions about it, please contact the church @ 423-239-7033, pactolusumc@gmail.com, or leave a message below to request more details.
